The new Johns Hopkins Hospital Building is a unique art and architecture collaboration between over 70 artists from across the country. In total, the new facility features more than 500 original works of art. The building’s unique façade is a wall of glass and steel commissioned by Michael Bloomberg and created by Brooklyn artist Spencer Finch.
In addition to providing state-of-the-art care and amenities, the art featured in Charlotte R. Bloomberg Children’s Center creates a comforting environment for young patients and families that will enhance the healing process. Art can be found throughout the building and includes sculptures and works of art inspired by nature and classic children’s books.
“Through these exceptional artists and architects we have created a unique space that incorporates art and design thoughtfully and with attention to detail. The center has a calming presence and creates a healing environment for all the families that pass through these doors and the expert medical professionals who work here,” said Michael Bloomberg.
